Qiuqi Ruan, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor, was born in 1944. Member of Appraise Discipline Group of the State Council Degree Committee, senior member of IEEE, Chairman of Technology Committee of IEEE Beijing Branch, Fellow of Chinese communication Institute，fellow and member of the council of Chinese Institute Electronics, vice director of the Academic Committee, member of the council of Chinese Image & Graphics Institute, Vice-President of council Beijing Image & Graphics Institute ,director of committee of Railway of Institute of Image & Graphics. The research of Professor Qiuqi Ruan is devoted to image processing, computer vision, etc. And he has accomplished more than 50 scientific research projects at national and ministerial level. Professor Ruan is the author and co-author of over 350 technical papers and edited 8 books in the image processing and information science. He has acquired one invention patent, and 5 technology awards of national or ministerial level and above. He is recognized for the honors which include Distinguished Contribution Specialist by Railway Ministry, Science and Technology Advancement Award by Railway Ministry, Distinguished Contribution Specialist Award , Mao Yisheng Science and Technology Advancement Award; Zhan Tianyou Qualified Scientists & Technicians Award, he is also recognized as a Distinguished Teacher by Beijing Government and enjoys the government allowance of the State Council.
