Xiao Yang received his B.S. degree from Beijing Post and Telecommunication College in 1983, his M. S. degree in 1989 and Ph.D. degree in 1991 from Beijing Jiaotong University.From 1996 to 1998, he carried out a joint research plan of DFG (Germany Science Foundation)-NSFC (National Natural Science Foundation China), as a DAAD visiting scientist, and as a DFG visiting scientist, at University of Erlangen-Nūrnberg，Germany. In 2002, he was a DAAD Senior Visiting Scientist, at University of Applied Sciences Giessen-Friedberg, Germany. He was the member of Academic Committee of Beijing Jiaotong University in 2005. From 2005 to 2006, he carried out a joint research plan of Brain Pool of Korea as a visiting professor, at Chonbuk National University, Korea. From 2007 to 2008, he carried out a NSFC-KOSEF joint research plan as IITA visiting professor, at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Korea. His main research interests include: Space-Time Signal Processing, Communication Signal Processing and Systems, Multidimensional (M-D) Signal Processing and Systems. He published more than 200 papers in journals and important international conferences, and over 150 papers entered SCI, EI and ISTP. He has implemented 3 projects from NSFC, 2 international cooperative projects from NSFC，1 projects from NSFB and 1 Doctoral Program of the Ministry of Education, he obtained near 20 authorized patents.
