Weibin Liu: Professor. He received Ph.D. degree from Beijing Jiaotong University in 2001. 2001-2005, he joined Fujitsu R&D Center and engaged in intelligent multimedia data processing and application system development. From 2005, he joined Institute of Information Science, School of Computer and Information Technology of Beijing Jiaotong University. He is the deputy director of Multimodal Information Processing Laboratory of the university, IEEE member, ACM member, IEICE member, CCF-YOCSEF committee member, CCF senior member. His research interests include intelligent information processing, pattern recognition and human computer interaction, computer information system, computer graphics and image processing, etc. He teaches the courses of Pattern Recognition, C Programming, Computer Graphics, etc. As project principal, he has taken charge of a Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project, a Beijing Natural Science Foundation project, a Doctoral Program of China, etc. As major investigator, he has participated in two National “973” Plan projects, two Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, etc. To meet the needs of industrial and departmental requirements, he took on many important R&D application projects. He has strong experiences in organizing, designing and developing software and application systems. The main applied research directions are interactive digital media, network and intelligent information processing, mobile computing application, crowd simulations, 3D visualization and visual simulation, multimedia information processing. He has published more than 50 academic papers in the international and domestic journals and conferences, 8 of which were indexed by SCI(E), 14 indexed by EI-JA (Journal Article). The invention patents have been applied.
